The Winding Oak House takes the existing Walter Lamb design and keeps its main geometry while adding new programs. The entire house hugs the existing Oak tree mound on the North and opens to the ocean view on the South. The floor plan is a direct response to the site conditions, as the house roams through the existing Oak forest. The proposed design highlights the way in which the house relates to its surrounding by creating curved niches where the full height windows invite the oaks into every view.
The material selection intends to accent the interior-exterior continuity with every material expanding from the inside to the outside.
